       July, 2006: I have just finished a "what-if" novella titled 2060. It begins:   

Katie Kendall had already started her lecture when Angela slipped into the crowded auditorium and found an aisle seat near the back.

:"When the men first started dying, some people immediately thought that 'the terrorists' had erased a virus to eradicate our menfolk. . . . Some of the famous men who died in the early stages were men in the Bush admiistration. Possibly one of the very first was the puppetmaster, Vice President Dick Cheney, who disappeared from view early in 2007. But at first we assumed he was just in his famous 'undisclosed location.'

Note of December 11, 2005: This article is an interesting snapshot of my thinking ten days after 9-11.   Even though I had instantly recognized the falling towers as a controlled demolition— I had turned on the TV and caught the sight of the first tower in free fall before hearing any mention of planes hitting the building— it took time and a lot of unanswered questions for me to accept that 9-11 was another Reichstag fire. For any of you who still believe the official story, I urge you to read theologian David Ray Griffin's The New Pearl Harbor.
